Role: Mutual Aid Volunteer Driver
About the role: In collaboration with the community organizers, this role involves picking up and dropping off hygiene kits and groceries to the VAI. Volunteers will provide support through mobility and delivery of items to the onsite location. Schedule: Every other Tuesday starting January 25, 2022 from 10 am-11:30 am and 2-3pm
Who can volunteer?
● Age 18 years or older.
● Due to the surges of the COVID variant and public safety for community service, volunteers must have a recent negative COVID test taken within 72 hours prior to the event. A home kit test is sufficient. Also, we encourage volunteers to provide vaccination cards if possible. Please note: Send an email with a photo of the results prior and/or bring in a screenshot to show in person the day of the event.
● Welcoming, flexible, and committed.
● Mobile and can assist with picking up items from partnered Food Pantry on Tuesday at 10am.
● Comfortable with loading and unloading boxes up to 20 lbs.
● Good communication skills with Food Pantry partners and volunteers.
● Available for biweekly zoom calls for preparing and briefing 15 minutes prior to the event.
● Able to assist with driving prepackaged bags and set up equipment to Argyle and Winthrop for distribution at 2pm.
