Acie Juco Roxas

Acie Juco “Juks” Roxas (they/them) is the Program Director of the Vietnamese Association of Illinois. Acie Juco is the oldest child of Filipino immigrants who immigrated to Chicago in the 1980s. They come from a background of community organizing; organizing with Filipino domestic workers and Filipino youth across the Chicagoland area. Previous to their role as Program Director, Acie Juco served the Uptown community’s young people as VAI’s Youth Program Manager for 3 years. They are passionate about community education on social justice issues and are not afraid of having tough, real conversations with elders and youth combined. They aim to harness their experience in supporting the development, maintenance, and execution across all VAI’s programs. When Acie Juco isn’t thinking about how to serve the community, they’re usually found writing music, painting, or relaxing with a cozy video game.
