Mary Huong Lam (she/her) is the Administrative Assistant at the Vietnamese Association of Illinois. As the first point of contact for VAI, she is responsible for greeting, welcoming, and directing community members to the appropriate staff. Additionally, she supports monthly magazine distributions, document translations, and mail deliveries. Mary Huong also works part-time at the NorthShore University Health System in Evanston. Previously, she was a Medical Record Technician at Saint Joseph Hospital and Resurrection Health Care. She enjoys her role at VAI because she is able to utilize her language skills to help immigrants like herself. Mary Huong has an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from Truman College in Illinois. She strives to create a warm and positive experience for all community members who visit VAI.
