Naomi Salcedo

Program Director

Naomi “Nomi” Leilani Salcedo (they/them) is the Program Director of the Vietnamese Association of Illinois. They hold extensive experience in non-profit community organizing, management and coalition partnership. Previously they were an operations and program manager at AFIRE Chicago as well as the Interim Student Services Manager at Year Up. Their work has historically focused on cultivating safe workplaces, building organizational capacity, developing leadership, and strengthening programs. Currently, Naomi is a master’s in clinical social work and policy candidate at The University of Chicago. They are most interested in providing trauma-informed, decolonized care to community through their practice. They also hold a bachelor’s in Sociology with a minor in Asian American Studies from UIC.
