VAI empowers adult learners by providing English literacy courses and in doing so assisting their successful integration into American society. Our program teaches students using civic-centered lessons that encourage community involvement, societal integration, and citizenship obtainment. In Fiscal Year 2018, VAI’s Adult Literacy Advancement Program provided 65 learners with direct instruction via 30 volunteer tutors.
The Adult Literacy Program takes place on the 3rd floor of VAI Chicago from Monday through Friday and on Sundays.
- Monday to Friday: 9:30am – 11:30am
- Sunday: 10am-12pm
On Saturdays, the program meets at the Bezazian Branch, Chicago Public Library, located at 1226 W Ainslie St, Chicago, IL 60640, from 10am-12pm.
